Off to Victoria

I started off the day by getting up at five o'clock (yes five. . .) to go to morning Mass up at Westminster Abbey. I arrived half an hour before Mass, but missed lauds. . . I don't think I could have possibly gotten up earlier than five. After Mass at the abbey I stopped by the nearby Poor Clares at St. Clare's Monastery and visited with one of the sisters there. She said that in light of the Muslim protests against the Holy Father their community had decided that today should be a special "Day of Love" for the Holy Father. Sister said they'd placed images of the Holy Father throughout the cloister and were making special point of spending extra time in prayer for him today.

I've got Latin this morning and then this afternoon I'm heading off to Victoria for a conference with George Weigel. After tonight's talk several of us young adults attending the conference will be hanging out with George Weigel. Tomorrow the conference goes all day, and then I'll be back Sunday afternoon.

I'll keep you posted on the conference once I get back.
